Community Advisory Committee

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is the Hazelwood Health Study’s peak advisory body. Its purpose is to ensure the study hears directly from and works in partnership with local community members, health and community service providers, Federation University (Gippsland) and local government in undertaking the research program.

The CAC meets regularly and currently includes four members of the Latrobe City community who were selected as part of an open expression of interest. These people are local teacher, Carolyne Boothman, community member, Ron Ipsen, Morwell Neighbourhood House Coordinator, Tracie Lund, and Mental Health & AOD Program Officer, Shane Wilson.

With the addition of Sale as the comparison community for the Adult Survey, a further three community members from Sale (Marg Harty, Dr Iain Nicolson, and Bill Redmond) were selected through open expression of interest.

The CAC also has organisational representatives from Latrobe City and Sale-based health and community service providers, and local government who were nominated by their boards.
